Legal Administrator (Family)- £20,000 – Chesham, Bucks

Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking, leading law firm who operate from 2 offices in West London and Buckinghamshire. With 220 employees, they are a firm that enjoys a reputation for representing significant clients in complex legal matters who are ranked highly by independent legal guides Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. Their main four practice areas are; Real Estate, Commercial, Private Client and Community Legal Services.

The role

Working within their Family and Matrimonial department they have an opening for a Legal Administrator to support, liaise and work with the seven fee earners in the Family and Matrimonial team on the end to end billing process of individual clients to ensure timely and efficient billing of files.

Key responsibilities will be a mix of billing and administrative tasks;

  • Preparation of bills in accordance with the firms’ procedures, to include collating disbursement receipts, liaising with accounts and preparing all documentation to be sent to the client
  • Closing of files, filing and general housekeeping of files including checking and writing off balances on files that are ready for closure
  • Dealing with telephone queries from clients and accounts in relation to bills
  • Audio and copy typing
  • File opening and closing, completion of forms
  • Checking deeds in and out of the deed’s storage facility
  • Printing, scanning, copying documents
  • Completing legal forms

 

What they are looking for

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent
  • Post graduate level (preferably law), LPC qualified would be desirable
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the audience
  • Experience of audio and copy tying is essential
  • Focused on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Proactive in approach with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
