Our client is the UK division of a leading global provider of title insurance and settlement services for residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Our client is one of the subsidiaries, a leading insurer of risks involving title and related areas of property and property finance.

The Role

The role of the Compliance Officer is to ensure that the company complies with existing regulations and internal policy and ensure that all new regulatory developments and requirements are incorporated into the company’s policy and procedures across the UK.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage regulatory submissions and will provide Compliance training, technical guidance, support, and tailored feedback on regulatory issues relevant to the business.
  • Monitor new regulatory developments and legislation that affect the business and operation of the company
  • Facilitate the identification and implementation of procedures, controls, and changes to ensure compliance requirements are adhered to.
  • Provide advice and support to the business on a range of issues including regulatory supervision, financial, operational, and other regulatory implications of new business proposals and on FCA & PRA regulations, DPA/GDPR and Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
  • Understand and implement oversight and audit requirements with particular emphasis on appointed representatives and outsourcing.
  • The role offers variety, ownership, and the opportunity to get involved in key projects and initiatives across the business.
  • The role could involve some travel other UK offices and potentially overseas.

What they are looking for

  • 2-3 Years’ relevant Compliance experience gained from the Insurance or Financial Services sectors
  • Relevant Professional Qualification (ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance or equivalent) is Preferable.
  • An excellent working knowledge of UK compliance and regulatory laws
  • Substantial knowledge of the FCA and PRA handbooks with particular emphasis on the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
  • Experience with current DPA/GDPR and Financial Crime Crime regulations including Financial Sanction requirements for the UK.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills- a natural relationship builder.
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to grasp complex issues and effectively communicating same
  • You will be capable of developing and applying your specialist knowledge to issues
  • Independent with own initiative, and function successfully as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, pragmatic, and principled, and possess a flexible approach to your work.
