Residential Conveyancing Partner, salary up to £70K dep on PQE, Cranleigh, Surrey

Our client is one of the largest legal practices in Surrey, and one of the South East’s leading law firms. They have been recommended in 7 areas in the 2022 edition of The Legal 500, with 23 lawyers being recommended. Chambers ranked in 5 areas and listed in the top 200 UK law firms in The Lawyer UK 200 Report 2021.

They are looking for an experienced residential Conveyancing solicitor for a Partner role to head up a small department with a strong client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a step up in Career and a great firm with whom to be associated.

The role

The team currently consists of a Partner and 2 highly experienced Legal Secretaries. This role would replace the Partner in the office. The work includes freehold, leasehold and new builds as follows:

  • Purchases
  • Sales
  • Transfers of equity
  • Mortgages

What are they looking for?

  • Solicitor or Legal Executive
  • Proven experience in Residential Conveyancing at a level to run a small department in the capacity of Partner
  • Demonstrates high technical competence with no need for supervision.
  • Generally, achieves targets appropriate for a Salaried Partner in respect of chargeable hours, fees, recovery rate, lock-up and non-chargeable time and is looking to progress further
  • Has established and maintained a client/referrer base.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the business of the firm, particularly that beyond the team/department in which the individual works commensurate with available information.
  • Willing to take part in management activities at firm, department or office level, or any combination of the same.
  • Where appropriate, has demonstrated good management skills in terms of supervision of junior staff and delegation of work.
  • Has shown initiative in terms of practice development.
